waiting for 5:00pm

Thomas says:
i cant believe i sharted the other day

it's a slow friday.

the friendly people at the tax office gave me my $39.19 refund earlier this week. so i ordered about 12 new tunes - what better way to celebrate! also pretty much all my records that were put up on sale are gone. suckers! i joke. a lot of the buyers were from perth. is breaks just taking off there?

velure

they're considered melbourne's answer to massive attack. while i wouldn't go that far, some of their stuff does sound very promising and worth checking out. i'm kicking myself in the nuts for missing out on frigid at newtown yesterday as they were supposed to play there. check their tuneage on the net label ideology.

less powder, more friction

back to earth now.. this thursday the lovely people at basics are bringing us:

dj friction and sp:mc!!

it's the 1 2 connection just like bukem & conrad, batman & robin, stockton & malone, starsky & fucken hutch. one of the sickest combos in d&b today so you all better get your asses down there or you will be destroyed like jana pittman's knee. and thomas will probably go around and break your neck as well.

wtf, there's snow in town?

and it's giving me flashbacks of perisher. ohh how nice it'd be tearing down the mountain on some fresh powder right about now. boots locked, headphones on.. weeee!

martin clark talks about dubstep

"..i often take friends to dubstep nights and they often ask when it's going to "go off." it won't. that's the point. sometimes though, they stick around long enough and start to get it . . . what an amazing Hatcha set can do is take hold of you and drag you under, just as say d&b would. but instead of the huge releases from the d&b breakdowns or oceanic synths, Hatcha sets just hold you there, overwhelming you with the sub bass, indefinitely. instead of the enjoyment of release, i've found to learn to love the pressure, just as i've learned to love the pressure of living in london." source
i'm glad there are writers around to articulate thoughts like this because this is so spot on and that's why i love this music! oh.. and i'm going to pimp myself to whoredom so i can get enough money to travel to london.. one day.
